Tsunami of our Time
by Micheal Russell
A powerful ocean wave captured in stunning black and white contrast.

The moment it happens I know the tsunami is coming

The mind body connection begins to fracture

Inner beast incarnate murmurs in my ear.

Thoughts splinter into shards of tiny remnants

Sparks of nervous energy pulse through my body

Random hailing of ride share to carry my thoughts

Destination unknown, destination unknown.

Rigid body weathers the storm

My system electric and pulsing

Find safe ground to recompose the self

Loose footing and slide into the darkness.

A world of lost souls grappling to hold on

Safety vessel in sight

Condition of support, lost livelihood

Shell of person parked for convenience

Spiral of planning, destination untenable

Triggers and goons let loose.

Historical patterns pulled from the attic

Sew a system of hellish proportions

My tsunami a mirror of your parliament

Safety cords cut loose

My rights in life fading.

People march for war

I fight for my composition

I stand for lives in the fore

Can we gather momentum?

Can we turn the spiral to soar?

Find the purse for everyone

We can all contribute more.

I breathe and feel the storm pass

Body and mind intact

My selfhood is not broken

My camera clear to focus.

I belong as do you

Your life un-judged, un-assessed

Your life free to roam

Your life sits in the balance

Your life could be my life in a moment

A distraction or thought accidental.

Would you cut your plan in two?

Would you cut your life in two?

The tsunami sits dormant

Stirred by the great hand

Spinning out of control

Someone needs to stop this

Or our country will not be whole.
